Filling in The Blanks, Or NOT

Hello, Gad this feels WEIRD. Haven't put a finger to the keyboard like this in what seems to be a freaking an AGE. But I guess I missed loading off some of my thoughts and thinkings on all of you.

I don't really know how to even start filling in the blanks of the last 5 months, So I guess I won't. Let's start from the here and now shall we? I'm writing to you from Dubai. Beautiful-Beautiful Dubai. Why? Perks of the job. Meetings, Shoots, Sun and Dust Called on La for a week long trip to the sand pit. & So Far so Good..

I'm actually in AWE of how beautiful this place is. Its pretty unbelievable. Then of course, after a long day's shooting.. I loose track of how lucky I really am and start thinking WHAT THU HELL IS THE POINT IN ALL OF THIS MAN.?!? I think it actually hit me whilst I was still dressed head to toe in some of my favourite designers such as YSL, Armani and DVF (to add insult to injury of my wild thoughts) Why are girls so mental? No but really? Tiredness + too much time to over analyse + 45 degree heat obviously DON'T mix well with me. After my little episode, it did make me think, my views on STUFF AND THINGS have totally changed, like yeah what girl doesn't like a new mac lipstick (& the rest) Louis Vuitton Bag & Christian Louboutin, red souled, beautiful shoes.. But how important, in the grand scheme of things are they? I guess with the outstanding some of 19 years under my belt i'm suddenly appreciating the littler things in life, and actually how they same to be the big important things these days.

London Fashion Week A/W 2012

So the Big Smoke and I meet again.. & This time i'm much less anxious than my 1st Fashion Week, Although this time round i'm walking in bigger shows, it's still Fashion Week, It's still terrifying and probably when I feel at my most venerable at work. I don't look at my job with false hopes and dreams, with modelling I am a total realist. I'm 5.7', it's really not tall enough for the requirements of modelling. But, I'm lucky that my limbs are out of proportion and I photograph like a giant, but when it comes to walking on a catwalk, it becomes very apparent that I am in fact a 'SHORTAAAYY' Last fashion week, before the show, I was just like 'What the hell am I doing here' but after walking in not only the 1 expected show but in fact all 6 of them that day, faith was restored in my fight against not being tall enough, further to that the organisers even invited me back to walk in their bigger shows in Fashion week in February, praising me on my walk. DOING IT FOR THE SHORTIES. So here I am, It's February and i'm back.

Yes, getting wiggy with it. Bringing Lou Clave's trend to fashion week. I freaking love getting wiggy with it. No back combing involved always winning.

Obscure Couture's collection was by far their best yet, I was literary in AWE of every single last piece. These two women are not only essentially my boss's but two people I trust more than anything or anyone. Its rare to find people you treasure in your life in this industry and I frankly feel so privileged and better off in myself for meeting them. They truly have my back and for that I love them eternally. P.S It's Official. La is Obscure Couture's Muse.

After the show, the whole team partied it up in my new favourite place to be in London, Jalouse. if you've not been. GET YOUR ASS THERE! Man I have the best night in such a long time. & I really was blessed with the gift of the gab. Thanks to Ms Chloe Frankie Peers for hooking us up with an unforgettable night.

I'm glad to be in London, I feel focused and energised to SMASH it again.
Stay tuned, This year is going to be B.I.G
Also, Everyone reading this who had supported me & pushed me to this point.

YOU THU BEST I EVA HAD

The whole team did themselves proud and they day went SWIMMINGLY - The event is all for charity, and with the two brains behind the whole thing in their last year at University which means DISSERTATION time they did SO BLOODY WELL. ISOLATED HEROES

At The interval of the show the fashion film I starred in was SHOWCASED for the 1st Time.
CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF

Then was the Obscure Couture Final S/S12 Look Book Shoot. Where havoc was once again turned into beauty, with a team in full force for hair and make up, waiting on hand and foot for 20 supper beautiful models we got the mammoth job DONE & in good time too. IDEAL

Then, Halloween came for 4 freaking days, I mean CAM'AAAANNN! It's meant to fall on the 31st of October, BUT No, Glaswegians use it as an excuse to party for the full 4 - friday - monday night, ridiculous amounts of fake blood, slutty outfits and freaky contacts SWARMED the city.

So of Course, I Joined in ONE night of 4

Wearing Very Little Attire, Not much effort was put into my Halloween celebrations this year. DAMM

SEE YA NEXT YEAR HALLOWEEEEEEN

On Sunday, LCR my beautiful friend and fellow creative asked me to do a little job at Sunday Circus, I got one of my best girls in the world of models Rachel M to come be my wingman. Little did we know that we were soon to be cockered up and put on a leash!!! Yes, Sunday Circus is an event always held in a secret location, So Myself and Rachel fronted the Parade and lead them to the unknown location on a leash - To be fair it was the Easiest job on the planet as we literally had to walk round the block. BOOM

So Thats Me, I've Missed Hundreds Out as Usual, But Onwards & Upwards - The Future is The FOCUS

Oh..

How Thu HELL Did That Happen?
Another Year Almost GONE

London Diaries: Day 5

With a 12pm Call Time at time at the show today being held at Browns Courtrooms, Everyone met for morning coffee at 11pm and because I knew I was modelling I got an even longer lie than everyone else, as I didn't need to blow dry and straighten my hair or slap the slap on! So bare faced I had to stroll along with the beautifully done up girls, Really doesn't bother me wearing no make up, because I am normally covered in the stuff on shoots any chance I get I am without make up! (All you poor people that have to see the real me! Maybe this is why everyone is surprised when they find out I model?) Plus I got longer in bed RESULT!

We arrived at Browns courtrooms and it was straight into fittings, There was 4 other designers showing so it was mayhem! I sat quietly comfy on a chair as I always knew what I was wearing but throughout the day was asked by ALL of the other designers to walk for them. MASSIVE YASS! Instead of 1 I was going to be doing 5, BUT when I was getting fitted for one of the shows, They couldn't use me as the clothes didn't fit, I was in fact, TOO SKINNY!! Best reason EVER RIGHT?

Let The Fittings COMENCE!

After getting over the panic of will they wont they fit, I was sorted, Walking in 4/5 shows, How the hell that happened I don't know but was chuffed to bits nonetheless! Opening and closing the show for one designer and walking 3 times for Obscure! I felt what could only be described as over whelmed! We were sat down and put straight to hair and make up! My MUA and Hair guys were bloody lovely and I loved the simplicity of the outcome!

Above is the Make up and Hair brief, Look IT'S ME!

I was more nervous for these shows FOR SURE! Much more pressure as I had people I knew in the crowd! My friend Leeann Soki Mak (scroll down to read the interview I did with her if you haven't already) with her friend & music producer Blue Bear & My dad came down from Manchester to show his support! Totally wish everyone from home could have been there to share the experience with me but in actual fact I felt so much pressure with only these 3 in the crowd never mind all you lot!

The Show was actually AH-MAZING. Best Runway Experience of my Life

I opened the last show for Obscure Couture with this FUCK YOU number, they wanted to set the tone and they certainly did, all the oooing and aaaing when I turned round and pointed and the remark stitched into the back of the garment!

Backstage was MENTAL! Sweaty Shouty MENTAL-NESS & instead of wearing 3 Garments for the last show, I wore 5. Obscure Couture tend to make clothes to fit children! They definitely starve the mannequin they use to measure model size as it's freaking tiny! The other models were slim Jims but a few pieces just wouldn't fit on other models so, quite gladly I stepped in! BUT and there is a HUGE but, after trying to squeeze the girls into the clothes at the fittings, one of the zips burst on one of the dresses, It was fixed, but then broke again. MID WALK. I'm not kidding, I was walking and just suddenly felt this waft of air in my dress, I was thinking to myself no freaking way this dress is wide open at the side and everyone can see my ugly nude thongs. SHIEEETT MAN SHIT. But ever the professional, I held the dress and my dignity together with my arm and got through it.

After the show, it was WINE & CHAMPAIGN time! And since the dad's were buying we were fully celebrating! Such fun times and toasts galore! As if my night couldn't get better the girl that runs the show itself, came up to me and the Obscure Couture girls SUPER excited, raving about OB's collection and how they stole the show, then out of no where, started telling me (without sounded like a total dick) that she was really impressed, she said at first she was like I don't remember that girl in the casting, then realised I was obscure's and the more I came on the more excited she was to see me walk. BIGGEST COMPLIMENT EVER

& Then We Partied
THE END

Painting Faces

Yes, there is a theme going on at Wannabe She the past two days, HAVE YOU NOTICED? I have been busy interviewing a few of my favourite people in the industry, all of which I have worked with or am going to! I will be doing the same in LONDON, Full on grilling's for all 4 of the photographers i'm working with! Gives you an even bigger insight into my life and who i'm hangin' with or working for! Makes it a little bit more interesting for EVERYONE and the bonus I don't have to ramble on about myself constantly!

I give to you Ms Jak Morgan

Jak can you tell everyone WHAT YOU DO?

I paint faces.

How did you first have the notion to PAINT FACES?

Makeup has always been a huge love of mine but it didn't occur to me to make it a career until around 5 years ago. I signed up for a makeup course while already at uni (glutton for punishment!) and knew straight away there's nothing else I'd rather do. So after I finished my degree went to London to do a course at London College of Fashion and haven't stopped since!

Can you share some of the milestones with us?

My first shoot for the Herald was a massive deal for me, especially as they let me loose straight away to paint one of their writers as Gene Simmons from KISS!! Awesome fun. The photography in the magazine is beautiful and it's such a great team so every job with them is always amazing. Getting signed to Model Team was another great moment as they are such a well respected agency and have got me some incredible jobs. Working with Paolo Nutini was good fun and also Clare Maguire at this year's TITP festival. Shooting for Hello Magazine was fab. And of course being Beauty Editor for POSED magazine has been really fantastic, especially as we never imagined at the start it would have grown as much as it has, even in the short time it's been going! It's a great thing to be a part of and exciting to see how it will develop in the future.

What's been your favourite shoot so far?
There have been so many amazing and diverse jobs I've been lucky enough to be a part of! But possibly my favourite is a shoot I did with the Scottish National Ballet for the upcoming issue of POSED. Ballet is a massive love of mine and getting to work with these beautiful girls (and boys) and watch them dance all day was maybe the best day at work of all time!

Do you still LOVE it?

More now than ever. I genuinely can't wait to get to work every day so I know how lucky I am.

What's your favourite brand?

Tricky, tricky, tricky question! I love different brands for different things and can't honestly say I have an absolute favourite. For foundations and concealors my favourites are Chanel or Laura Mercier, for great enhancing products it would be Clarins and I really love Illamasqua, Bobbi Brown and NARS. But, maybe unsurprisingly, the majority of products in my kit are MAC. They just make such great quality products you know you can rely on to last whether for a photoshoot or a fashion show or even a night out! And pretty much any shade of lipstick or blush or pigment you can think of, they will have created. Add in all the different mixing mediums, the possibilities are endless. The MAC Pro stores are genuinely one of my favourite places in the whole world and I could easily lose days in there!

Favourite product?
This is even trickier!! If I could only have one product from my kit it would probably be my Make Up Forever 12 Flash Color Case. It's a mix of greasepaints that can be used all over to create a whole look from something subtle to OTT dramatic! Other than that it would actually be my brushes... I'm a bit addicted to buying makeup brushes and have a huge collection. One time I thought I'd lost them at a job and had a FULL-ON panic attack!!!

What's the plans for the future?

WORLD DOMINATION!!! Haha. I love fashion and beauty and hope to always  work within this industry but music is a strong passion of mine as well so I definitely want to keep working with artists and get more involved in music videos and the touring side of things.

Jak is not only a talented a make up artist SHE IS SO MUCH MORE and with a heart of gold she is a total keeper in my life. She's completely mastered my face, what looks good and bad, this is ideal as I'll HAVE to use her a lot more on my shoots DAMM! It's a hard life!

Agony La

I have the best day i've had in AGES! POSITIVITY PEOPLE! It works i'm telling you!

Been getting some really LOVELY emails recently about my blog, glad you guys are enjoying reading about my nonsense! It's nice having people to vent on even if there is no response its therapeutic!

Also had a REQUEST! Yes a request, a girl emailed me saying that she always feels inspired after reading this, and is and never miss's a post. She has just recently split up with her long term boyfriend and wants me to write about relationships, The people who know me will most likely be ON THE FLOOR laughing as my experiences in the Romance department have been lets say EVENTFUL but nonetheless here we go!

So girls, we are MENTAL sometimes right? Or maybe I am trying to justify how MENTAL I can be by stereotyping the female sex. All jokes aside, we are emotional at the best of times never mind the worst! I don't know about you but I'm an all or nothing gal, I give it all or absolutely nothing at all. Having only been in one long term relationship from a young age my hormones and emotions were always all over the place & whenever we had a fight or split up like we had the tendency to do quite often aha It would seem like the absolute end of the world. & as much as I tried to not let it bother me It consumed my thoughts! I would cry for hours! I have only recently got a handle on things in that respect and girls i'm telling you it is not the end of the world. Do you think men sit and ball there eyes out over us? Do you think men even give us a second thought when they get ready? Or look out for us when they are in a club? The answer is most likely not. On a night out the boys are all about the boys, but girls seem to more concerned about the opposite sex than having fun with the females, and let's be honest we are really much more fun. Being positive minded doesn't just apply to work related things, it's definitely something that covers all aspects of life, so when you're fighting about whatever junk you are and it seems like THEE MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world, take a step back and think, Is this really important? The answer is most likely not, couples seem to spend relationships fighting and just accepting the arguments as 'part of it' Well im telling you it's by far part of it, don't accept anything less than the best ladies! This doesn't mean expect the impossible! But chill out and just enjoy the possibility that that moment in time ROMANCE AINT DEAD. & To all the single ladies, newly single or a long term singleton's ENJOY not having the sometimes burden of having a man, no one to moan at you, get you to cook dinner or clean up their mess, no one to stress you out!! Take full advantage and grab your single pals. Get your glam on (book on www.inaa.com, excuse the plug!) And DANCE the night away! I am not a disco kisser but if thats you're thing then don't hold back. Let your hair down and truly whip it about. Laugh a lot and GET ON WITH IT, Newly single, get yourself out of your bed, STOP CRYING AND MAN UP!! Aha Harsh but it's what you need to hear!

I think that it all. I'm cringing that much that I can't bare to read it back, But basically what i'm trying to say if the message aint that clear to you is, go out, enjoy and have fun, single married or not bothered. It's all about the power of the female girls SO GO DOMINATE THE DANCE FLOOR & forget about the men!

Peace Love & I'm Definitely Not An Expert.

STING LIKE A NETTLE

Today I was smashing work at inaa all day then jumped over to the west end to do a shoot! It was with the lovely Olivia Halvorsen, Never worked with her before but what a pleasure! Olivia you are a doll! I cannot wait to see the images! What a team we had #storyofmylife I feel I say that about all my shoots, but i'm serious! Everyone I work with these days are BLOODY AH-MAZING. Debbie Slater was painting my face! Friends but never actually got round to working together! MAC consumes her make up life so was really nice to catch up whilst we worked! I loved what she managed to do with one's face! & with my THINATHON in progress, my skin has decided to BREAK OUT with my change of diet. IDEAL? Not so much! 1 spot is one spot too many in the world of modelling but thankfully Debbie sympathised as she's also going through a healthy eating spree and APPARENTLY it gets better! So fingers crossed for flawless skin ASAP

There was two other models on location, One Ms Emily FM, also a friend and also never worked with her, again much fun was had and we managed to get each other through the pain of the needle stings! (Yes, we were shooting in a garden FULL of nettles) The other gorgeous model was Lisa Cunningham, self confessed 'gypsy' covered in beautiful tattoo's! Olivia reckons we compliment each other as her skin is white and mine still tanned from my break away in Greece! Guess we will see when the images are published! BRING IT

Ladies it Was a Pleasure!
Peace Love & Nettles
